Board a gulet and explore the turquoise coast of the Northeastern Mediterranean with a special emphasis on the Pauline mission sites. Life on a gulet is certainly more luxurious than the conditions of Paul’s travels, but the manners of naval travel will be very similar to what Paul was doing in his time; the boat will be sailing or cruising during the day and anchoring at secluded, protected small bays at night just like a Roman cargo ship of  the 1st century would have done. Accommodations are in private cabins with private baths, and healthy, delicious Mediterranean meals will be prepared with fresh, local ingredients and served by the crew. Our regular daily activities will include stops for swimming in crystal clear waters as well as exploration by foot or by bus of many ancient sites. Daily lectures and discussions led by experienced guides and expert scholars will take place on board the gulet, over the dinner table and directly at the location of these fascinating and important historical sites.
